Hi there! Thanks for stopping by! So I'm gonna walk you through one of my latest pieces... It started with some watercolor experiementation and later turned into a mixed media piece... This was where I started. I'm just using some basic Crayola watercolors, nothing fancy... I wanted to play around with the "galaxy" idea a bit so I did... At this point I decided I wanted more depth and started adding some paper and shiny things. Yeah I know I've been using that blue shiny stuff a lot but...... it's pretty! I also added some more watercolor on top, paint splashes and some star stickers. In the next step I added some swirly confetti and some stars that are actually nail art I believe... I've had them forever... they're tiny... black and white stars... perfect! I glittered up some cardstock for the quote... it actually came out really pretty and I'm gonna use that technique a lot more. It adds a really really cool shimmer. And here's the finished product and some close ups! I used some metallic sharpies for the text.. hand written by me! Turned out really nice! Underneath the word wrapped I also added some washi tape but I couldn't get the angle right so you can't tell how shiny it is... this whole page is just really glittery and sparkly--- it's hard to capture but it turned out really well! I bet you can see the small nail art stars now lol Final product. I feel like it came out better than I expected. Even though when I started I intended to do a full watercolor galaxy piece I feel like what came of it actually interprets the quote better. The paper kind of creates the idea of "wrapping" so it feels like it has some depth and it adds to the quote. I love it! The creative process always seems to surprise me somehow... I like it when it exceeds my expectations... that's a great day lol I hope you enjoyed the post!
Just a quick little look at my creative process... I hope you have a fantastic day! Much love AmandaIRL
