Look at the Stars... Lyrically Inspired Art Journal Spread.

Hi there! Just wanna share my latest art journal page! 
I don't know why but I get this song stuck in my head alllll the time (Yellow by Coldplay) and I found a little city I wanted to use in my journal (from a magazine) and this is what I created! 
Keep going to see the whole process! 

First up!
Materials Used...
Besides the piece I cut from the magazine I used watercolors,
​(I used black acrylic but I forgot to put it here... I also didn't have any of the stars or crystals left from the page but you will see them in the photos), Glitter Glue, Elmers, Confetti, Gel Pen, White Out Pen. 

And here's the beginning... 
Usually I wouldn't have glued the confetti first but I did add more later so I don't know I just go with the flow and create as I go! 
I love how the confetti sparkles however, it does make it difficult to photograph lol.

I got really deep into painting before I realized I hadn't taken any pictures but I started with black acrylic and it kinda scared me a bit... again something I wouldn't normally do but I did it lol
After starting with the black I layered on the watercolor.. blues and purples and added yellow for a glow from the city.

Next up I added the stars and sparkles.
I also used some white acrylic for the speckle star effect and I added some more swirly confetti.

Then I used the white out pen to add the text.
Notice I've also penciled in some buildings I'm pretty impressed with how well I was able to make them blend via the next step!

Here I used the chalk pastels and my gel pen to blend in the rest of the skyline.
Pretty impressive eh? 

And there you have it! 
Not my best work but I had to start somewhere after a long vacation. 
I'm still kinda rusty but it's all gooood... 
And with any luck this song will stay on this page and out of my head. haha.
