How goes it everyone! Hope your Easter was good!
It was like Christmas morning for our kid lol we went overboard... oh well!!
We don't tend to buy him much because he has so many awesome grandparents that also want to spoil him to bunches.. sigh.. #OnlyChildProblems haha.
Hubby normally does the Easter shopping but this year I did it...
When I got to the store I felt like I was in the twilight zone omg so much candy everywhere.. for some reason it's much different than Halloween candy idk..
Regardless I love it all.
I brought the candy home last weekend and split his up so we could have half..
he doesn't need ALL the candy.. well 2 nights later it was gone............
Hey... hubby helped lol.
But yes Easter.. What a beautiful day for it too!! We decided to sit outside on the back porch with our big blanket and have a picnic lunch! It was really nice..
And tonight we will have steak, a pasta side dish, broccoli.. maybe some homemade biscuits or rolls haven't decided yet.. when I made my menu last week I didn't think about Sunday being Easter at the time.. so I laughed when I saw that I put chicken nuggets and french fries.. wow real classy for an Easter dinner.. lol.
OHH well no biggy it is solved!
And Easter has been accomplished! He woke up to his baskets from the Easter bunny and basically had candy for breakfast.. Then we dyed eggs and we did an inside Easter Egg Hunt for him.. that was really fun... I bought one set of glittery eggs and we put special prizes in those.. I got a set of 3 mini thomas the train engines he was excited to find them!! Lol the green glittery ones had money in them.. the others had mini candy bars.. it was pretty awesome. Little dude is happy so that's all I care about!
Annnnywho. I suppose since Easter has come and tomorrow is Monday it's time to get serious about the spring cleaning...
NOOOOOOOO!!!! lol.
I know things are going to get much messier before they're tidy and organized but it's just one of those things I suppose...
I do have a list already but I need to go ahead and finalize zones and areas..
I don't know if it's part of some sort of procrastination technique that I have come to rely on or what but I have to write things down first.. get it on paper and organized a certain way before I feel comfortable starting certain tasks..
So I need to get everything down on paper so I feel like I have a game plan.
Things hardly ever go as planned but you know it's always good to have something to fall back on just in case lol as you will see I do repeat meals on my menus somewhat often because there are times I don't end up making dinner or we end up doing something quick.. sometimes you just have to make the shift.
And speaking of making shifts lol....
As I went to make my meal plan I suddenly remembered that hubby won't be home for dinner from Wednesday until Sunday... so that kind of put a damper in my menu process but I adapted... So for Monday and Tuesday we are going to have our regular family meals and then Wednesday through Sunday we're going to have Kid Friendly Dinners!! Seems only fair that since hubby isn't going to be joining us for dinner that I change it up a bit for little man.. and myself..
I'm really not too picky these days.. I could eat cereal for dinner and feel just fine about it lol.
So without further ado here is my adapted menu for the week:
Monday: BBQ Chicken Pizza {Didn't make this last week}
Tuesday: Chicken Bowls + Homemade Corn Bread
Wednesday: Homemade Chicken Nuggets & Mac/Cheese + Peas
Thursday: Taco Quesadillas
Friday: Pizzadillas or Mini Pizza Calzones {No Yeast Dough}
Saturday: Baked Crispy Ranch Chicken & Green Beans + Baby Carrots & Ranch
Sunday: Pizza Pasta w/ Ground Beef & Homemade Garlic Bread
{Tentative Hubby's Schedule}
So that was our Easter and now I'm planning for tomorrow and the rest of this busy week to come!!
Hope you all have a great night!
Happy Easter
