SketchI am so excited to share this set with you! As always here's the sketch that started it all. IntroThis is my very first fondant set!!! I really didn't understand the big deal about fondant. I've had it on cake a few times and I've even made it 2 or3 times before but I haven't been a huge fan in the past. Little did I know that fondant and cookies are a special match... I had no idea how delicious they were together. Definitely expect to see more fondant in the future. I can't believe we've been putting it on cakes instead of sugar cookies this whole time. These are the updates I sent her as her cookies were being created and mailed LOL. Extras/New UpdatesHomemade Marshmallow FondantMicrowave marshmallows and 2 tsp of water until the marshmallows are melted. Fold in powdered sugar until a dough forms. Use Crisco to keep the marshmallows from sticking to your hands. I've found it's easier to work with after it's rested for a day or so. DO NOT PUT IT IN THE FRIDGE. Wrap it in plastic wrap and put it in a ziploc. It can stay on the counter for 3-4 weeks. (Much more messy and time consuming than it looks or sounds but it gets easier each time and it's DELICIOUS on cookies.) I bought some molds to use for this set. I can't wait to start collecting more silicone molds. This was a "practice" fondant set for me so I played with the molds and made a lot of fondant pieces that never made it to the cookies. Some molds were easier to use than others. Cornstarch is your friend. Bloopers/OopsiesThis set was crazy. I don't think I've ever had to rebake so many cookies in my tiny cookie creating life. BUT. Man I was so happy I had those extras because I have fallen in love with fondant cookies and they got me through my own holiday baking. They were delicious. I'll absolutely be making more with marshmallow fondant. I love happy accidents. That is a reminder to give yourself a break. Cookies burn. Icing runs. Hakuna Matata. I rebaked the keys twice LOL. Closing TimeThank you so much for visiting and checking out the new things I'm doing!
I hope you had fun or found some inspiration! Have a magical day! And until next time... Peace & Love, Amanda
