Hi there! Welcome to another cookie decorating adventure! This set is actually about adventure! I asked my Mom for theme ideas and she said "travel" and she said to mesh her and my step dad's set together (they have the same birthday). SO. This is what I came up with... Even after spending hours on Instagram I still had a hard time deciding what I wanted to do for a "travel" theme. I wish I could have figured out something a bit more impressive but there's always next time so I guess for my first set it wasn't bad. First up, suitcases. I definitely wanted to do some of those so it was cool to try that out. These are minis too so they are super cute. My mom wore these cute little tenni-slip ons when she came to visit I just wanted to recreate them. I do love making shoes. They are fun. Lots of layers. This polo was so simple I almost missed getting pics of the process LOL. Travel is not complete without some caffeine and my parents love their coffee. Ugh. Well there's always at least one in every set that I'm like, could you please just not? LOL. I have done a few pairs of sunglasses and they always give me a hard time. I guess I need to make more sunglasses this year so I can get better at it. LOL. All that happened with these is that my grey was too thick and it didn't dry nice and smooth. Have I mentioned I do love watercolor backgrounds? I do. I love how these came out especially with the idea of the birthdays being meshed. So I guess this last cookie was actually the cherry on top because it made my Mom cry.. awww... LOL. So. My parents have been travelling a lot over the past few years. I have 4 other siblings and we all live across the country so they've been making rounds to see everybody. One of the hearts is my grandparents, the other 4 are my siblings. I thought it would be cool to kinda connect us all together. So I printed out a map, made sure it would fit on my cookie, traced it onto parchment paper with an edible marker, cut it out, and then traced it onto the cookie. Yeah it was horrifying, but it came out PERFECT. I love the watercolor border. PhotoshootClose UpsPerfectly PackagedI hope you enjoyed this little set!
I actually think this set would be good to try for someone just starting on their cookie decorating adventures. I will have to revisit the travel themes and do something a bit more detailed next time but my Mom loved these so I'm pretty happy. Until next time! Much Love, Amanda
