Hello! I'm so glad you're here I have such a cool set to share with you! It's unique and that's what I love about it. I'm going for more unique sets this year now that I have a bit of experience with the basics. So it didn't turn out exactly like the sketch but such is artistic creation. This will be a tad long but I think it's worth the few minutes if you wanna see how the set turned out AND how I created the 3D Pickle Rick cookie. First of all we will start with the Rick and Morty Portals. I love how these came out! They were perfect! Also easy and fun to make. All wet on wet so I didn't have to wait for each layer to dry. Onto the skulls/skeletons I actually don't know which is the proper term but... Time to tie the set together a bit... Okay so... this is where the sketch changed... Originally I was going to do mini skulls but I once I cut them out I couldn't unsee potion bottles. So I decided to change it up and do potion bottles and hearts. I'm not mad about it at all either. I absolutely ADORE these, I wish I had them for my brother's Dungeons and Dragons set I did last year... Either way, skulls or potion bottles or whatever else I see next, I will definitely be using these minis more!! I bought myself a set of minis from Amazon for Christmas and I already can't get enough of them! You can find them by clicking HERE. You can also find the silver I used to create the highlights on the bottles HERE. *I receive small compensation from Amazon when products are purchased using my links. Well I don't know if it's last but not least... it's next in my camera roll that I do know. Now time for the Pickle Rick breakdown... I created SOLENYA by hand... I just painted him on with food coloring and vanilla extract. I considered doing a transfer but eh... I've come to find this method to be the best way to create without damaging the cookie if I screw up... It's easy to remove the food coloring and start over. Pretty nifty. Although to my surprise I had very little trouble with Pickle Rick. I just got into the zone and after about 2 hours I had created SOLENYA!!! THE PICKLE MAN!!! Yeah I know a lot happened in there... So let's pause for a sec and check out some close ups eh? It was actually pretty difficult to photograph the 3D bits of him but his Face Accessories (eyebrow, eyes, mouth, teeth), Razor Blades, and Bones are are done with Royal Icing and painted. I used that same silver from earlier to do the razor blades. *I receive small compensation from Amazon when products are purchased using my links. Time to finish up this little cutie. Idk what the deal is with purple and pink but like I say every single time they are SO HARD to get pictures of. I was really excited this time because the green photographs like a CHAMP!! Next up! Cute little hearts that weren't even included in the original idea/sketch. Initially I wanted to do a crackle effect but I found out it only works with one color and one brand of food coloring so I decided to just paint them and give them a rough sort of look.. I added black to the purple and more of the silver dust. Once they dried, I embellished them with some roses. I'm glad I made these little changes. I think it really helped to bring the set together. The skulls would have been cute too but I think I would have struggled to make everything feel cohesive. Plus I love hearts... and it's VALENTINES after all right? Okay we're down to the very end... Just gotta finish up the details on the skeleton skulls haha I started first with painting on the expressions... that's kinda become my little fail safe. As for the dude skeleton skull it was hubby's idea to add the little gear and I LOVE IT. He is indeed my muse. He always helps me to add little things to the set. Once again that is the same silver, I used it on his top hat too. I do love my silver. I guess I didn't get any pictures inbetween creating her flowers but it's always pretty hectic towards the end and espcially with the flowers and picking out which tips I want and switching out bags etc it is kinda hustle bustle and I get so caught up I just forget to take pictures. Awwwwww swoon. I actually bought this cute little set on Amazon... if you're interested you can find it here. *I receive small compensation from Amazon when products are purchased using my links. Okay I think we are now to the actual finishing and photoshoot portion of this set! YAY! ENJOY! I normally don't do these, actually so far I've NEVER done any black and white photos but I thought these looked REALLY cool... I think I may have to do some color peeking black and whites with these. Idk. Kinda cool though. Very moody. I know... this has really gone on for a while hahaha can y'all tell I really liked this set?? Hahaha so anyway here's some pics of them bagged up because they're adorable and also the packaging came out pretty sweet. Packaging is a pain...... I'm pretty proud of my packing skills they have improved a ton! I hope you enjoyed this Valentines Anniversary Pickle Rick Skull Magik Craft mash up set.
Haha. I made this set for a pretty cool couple... I am happy to know them. I am soo sooo happy I had a reason to create Pickle Rick and also create something completely different. I am surely in the market for the challenges this year! Much more to come and as always MUCH LOVE!! Amanda
