Just in case this is your first time visiting my page you should know that my creative endeavors are best described as overly ambitious and I've come to make peace with that. I knew almost immediately when I cut out those huge cookies that the chances of them staying in once piece were really slim. I even tested one out (too early probably) and it broke in half thus confirming my intuition. However, I decided to go ahead and decorate one of them and because of my disappointment of course, eat the other two hahaha. In the meantime I decided to create 2 smaller ones and some "build your own" type of cookies. Since these cookies needed to ship I wanted some variety so maybe there would be a better chance of some of them arriving in one piece. The build-a-trophies were pretty fun. That was a really cool idea. Probably a surprise to no one but I decided to make the little trophy dudes by hand. For one, they're all different sizes and secondly I really didn't want to deal with transfers either. So I painted lightly underneath by hand and then drew the icing on top. I really struggled with the first little dude. We didn't like each other at all for a while but I think he came out okay. I painted the details on with Edible Gold Dust and Vanilla Extract. I don't know why I didn't think to use a tape measurer or a ruler but y'all this cookie is HUGE. I mean it's ridiculous. So instead of trying to flood the entire background as I did with the other cookies I decided to use a kind of textured effect... I basically painted it on. I really liked the end result. I may use this technique more often. I love the little traffic light minis. The minis are pretty simple so there's really not much to show process wise as far as these go but they're cute. And back to the "build-a-trophies" hehe Well you can definitely tell they were hand drawn here but I don't hate them. They both look equally trophy-like and you shouldn't judge anyway right? haha. Onto the nitty gritty details. I used a mixture of Edible Markers and Black Food Coloring. Side by side you can tell that I over-fussed with the smallest guy lol As I said, we were not friends that first night LOL. Still... eh... looks like a trophy to me and I mean, not bad for my very first trophy... Also how cute are the little balloons!! I just got myself a rather large set of mini cutters for Christmas and I'm going to be using them as much as possible LOL. I know the balloons are probably going to be a new norm. Finally onto this enormous beast. I still can't believe I was able to pull him off LOL. Pretty cool. Even with me holding him it's hard to tell how big he is... my hands aren't tiny... I have lanky Jack Skellington hands that cookie is BIG y'all. Lol. Anyway and finally there's all 3 of the trophies together. So this cookie you will actually recognize from my original sketch LOL. I wanted to paint my Dad's car on a cookie. So I did. Photoshoot time!!! I was lucky enough to get some decent sunshine. It's always hard to photograph gold but I have fun. Okay so we got mini traffic lights, the painted car, the "build-a-trophies", mini balloons, two miniature trophies and I don't even know what to call the middle trophy it really shouldn't even exist it goes beyond all the rules of gravity LOL. Believe it or not I was able to ship this guy to my Dad without it breaking. I can not tell you how suprised I was... from the second I pulled this cookie out of the oven I was already convinced there was no way it was making it out of my kitchen... but it did!! It was A LOT of work boxing these dudes up so I did not get a picture of them bagged. As you've seen previously I had the balloons bagged pretty early but I spent a long time packing up them nicely and it paid off because not a single cookie broke. Just some close ups.... Holy crap you made it to the end!!
Haha this post was long... but it was cool right? Probably the most unique set I have ever done. Thank you so much for checking out my content! Stay tuned for more of my adventures!! Much Love Amanda
