Introduction:Welcome! I have been gone for a while, I took a little breather but I am back and I have a new set to share! Something different! Something kinda cool! This set is one that encourages you to play with your food. I have been saying (and it's even titled) as my first build-a-scene BUT I am now thinking about the Royal Red Robin Burger I did and it was kind of like this... more of a "build-a-meal" though than a build a scene haha. ANYWAY-ahem. I don't know what it is, maybe the romance of it all, but I LOVE making housewarming cookies. This is only my 3rd set (barely) but I have been waiting for the opportunity to do another one because I LOVE doing them and I think this one turned out super cute!! Onward to experience the fun I had creating this set! Sketches:The sketches are a tad different from my regular ones. I had to do 2 pages one with everything by itself and one how the cookies would create the scene. I actually ended up switching the keys and the little houses but overall the sketch served me really well as always. Prep & Baking:Decided to try my hand at some very basic cookie sculpting and it worked pretty well! I do normally decorate on the back of my cookies so I had to take that into consideration but I just wanted to try something new. Let the flooding begin:I did a pretty cool marbling technique on the key. I love how it turned out. I think I'll be finding ways to do that more often it looks really neat!!! There is a short video on my YouTube that shows how I created the marble effect. You can watch it HERE. Time to start the futon. This was freehanded. Details. Details. Details. I used white food coloring and a paint brush to sketch the outline of the key on before going over it with royal icing. Adding lights to the string here: It's time to give the futon some character and get into some more GOLD! All the GOLD!! I guess I was feeling brave this set LOL. All the lettering was done freehanded by me with zero guides. I just went for it. I don't know why, but I'm seriously in love with these pumpkins. I'm so in love with them I made a whole sheet full of purple pumpkin candy transfers. Just some extra details to make a "glowy" kind of effect AND tons and tons of flowers!! I LOVE how the keys came out!! Not too shabby for free handing... I'm very happy with these little cuties. I'm in love. This is the cutest set ever. As always LOL. This set is so pretty. I love the colors. I love the everything. LOL. So. Yes. More pictures!! PhotoshootDetails:Photoshoot Part 2 Individuals:I love how the little futon turned out. Wrap It Up:WHEW! Ha. We're finished!
Thank you SO MUCH for enjoying this set with me! I had so much fun creating this one! I can't wait for the next! I hope you'll join me! Have an awesome day & Much Love Amanda

For those of us who are new to the skill, it would be great to know how much time you spend at each stage so we can get an idea of what time is involved with the pieces.
