September has come!
Change comes with the fall! As I was doing my journal for September I really really fell in love with the blue shiny paper and decided to refresh my header! I actually love how it turned out! I used just basic art journal/mixed media supplies, nothing fancy. I cut out the flowers and hearts from an adult coloring book I had. Came out really pretty!!! So here's a little collage showing a bit of the process. I used some foam tape from the Dollar Tree to create some depth. Sheet music paper because I am a huge lover of music... The watercolor I did on my flowers and hearts came out sooo pretty! I actually got a little overzealous and attempted to create a full watercolor piece and you can see how that worked out in this post here. ANYWAY. Just wanted to share my little process here and introduce the new header properly! I could create something digitally but I just enjoy creating it myself. Thanks for stopping by! Please feel free to leave a comment or shoot me an email if you wish. Much love! Amanda I'm still getting into my own groove as far as planning goes and welcome pages this was really one of the first ones I've done in my art journal.
When I finished I felt like it was kind of underwhelming but it's a start and it's my own so we all have to begin somewhere and I know I will look back and be able to see progress and that's always a great thing. So Happy September! I am so ready for fall!!! Thanks for stopping by and please feel free to poke around and see what's going on! Much love Amanda Hi there! Time for the Father's Day Cards post! So I didn't do such a great job documenting the process on these but I'm still gonna share them because they turned out really cool and I'm proud and maybe someone can still use some of the ideas... You never know. I'm sorry y'all I am who I am. I'm messy. I'm kinda scattered brained ya know? But I'm ambitious and creative and I'm gonna share that with whatever world tunes in. Without further ado here's the two cards. One for Dad and one for Step dad. Keep scrolling to see how I made each one! Well now that it's almost Father's Day I guess it's safe to share the Mother's Day cards I made haha! I didn't want to ruin the surprise at the time so I wanted to wait to post them... I made these myself. One for my mom, step mom and MIL. I feel like they captured each mom pretty well. I had a blast making these and I will be doing more card making for sure in the future. I used just basic stuff... Watercolor Paper, cardboard. melted crayons. watercolors. images were printed from my computer. I also picked out a bible verse for each card. Pretty sure I nailed it. Hello there!
Yes I've updated the header and YES it is my work done on some scraps... cardboard with some acrylic and watercolor and some washi.. melted crayons.. pens.. And YES the clover is real. I guess I could share in the future how I preserve the clovers if that's something you're into. Anyway. The light is crappy. Shadows are terrible. Editing was unsuccessful. I didn't want to tinker with it too much beyond some lighting changes. But that's just how it is for now. I am happy with it anyway. It's raw and grungy like me I guess hahaha. As for the contiuation of the weekend I'm not sure what all I'm going to get into. I finished up the header art last night and I attempted to work in my journal but the flow wasn't there and you can't force art. I know it's a holiday weekend and everyone is doing their beach and bbq thing so I hope you all stay safe, eat some good food and honor those who served/serve our country! Much love to all Amanda Fall is my most favorite time of the year!! I love getting out my scarves and boots and beanies. I love the crisp air and the trees are vibrant oranges, reds and purples. I absolutely LOVE this area! We only moved to the Birmingham metro a year ago, the Pelham/Alabaster area, but I don't think we'll be leaving anytime soon! The scenery is stunning and fun is not hard to find! Whether you're looking for a family event or something to do alone, you won't be disappointed. They don't call it the "magic city" for nothing!
Holy snap this year is just about over!!
But we still have a full month left and I'm starting it off well. I got some free printables ready-menus and agendas you can click the image below. You should also check out the rest of my FREE PRINTABLES.. I have monthly sets and calendars. Holy snap it's November!!
And now almost Thanksgiving but ya know I figured I should go ahead and update because there are still new things happening and I want the blog to be current. I did make a few new printables for the fall so be sure and check those out I am going to make more! I think the PDF format is where it's at.. I haven't really had any issues with the regular picture files but I think the PDF is more user friendly. |
