If you look up "happy" it's basically a bunch of other positive, good feeling adjectives..
Delighted.. glad.. joyful.. the list can go on and on.
So how does one acquire the company of these adjectives?
Well I can tell you a great place to start.
(A feeling of appreciation or thanks)
(Glad that something has happened or not happened, that something or someone exists, etc.

If you can't find things to be thankful for then perhaps you shouldn't have things.
There is always something to be thankful for.
At first it may seem silly.. or simple.. or maybe it's difficult..
Don't think so hard.
A lot of times we forget how thankful we truly are for things in our life until we lose them.. and I don't just mean people.. seeing as how that particular set of words seems to always reflect some sort of break up..
While you should definitely cherish the people in your life and be thankful for each and every person who is there for you.. there are also other things we don't think about being thankful for until we lose them..
A vehicle.. a washing machine.. a dishwasher.. a refidgerator.. power.. running water..
A house.. Coffee.. Food in general..
None of these things are promised or owed to you..
Just like this day..
Today is one of a kind.
This day will never come again.
Be thankful and enjoy every moment of it.
When my alarm goes off in the morning I sit up and think of 5 things that I can be thankful for today.
Usually that will get me up and going.. and in the right mindset..
As the day progresses I will add other things to this list..
Once you start being thankful and expressing gratitude for things you will acquire more of those things..
And more of the feelings that associate with being thankful and grateful.
Joy.. happiness.. delight.
Those adjectives that we yearn for in our lives.
We create them.
They are not some object to be won or bought or found.
They come from within.
If you are placing your happiness on things to be won or bought or found..
When those objects become obsolete so does your happiness, and that leaves you on a constant cycle of filling that void with things that can easily be replaced.
Find gratitude in every situation...
Another great way to do this is to reverse your complaints.
When you feel a complaint come on and maybe it has even left your mouth..
Try to find the reverse...
This actually happened to me last night..
I said that I hated summer.. because of mosquitos..
My husband was quick to remind me of all the wonderful things that summer brings..
Shaved ice... green grass... pool parties... warmth in general lol... summer music..
There are great things about summer.. and I shouldn't just dismiss it because it also happens to bring the mosquitos...
Perfection does not exist in this world.
It's easy to pick out all the flaws and discrepancies..
But it takes true courage to look beyond the flaws and realize that they are a huge part of the beauty that exists.
Take some time today to reflect on all the things you have to be thankful for.
This is the intro to a more positive and optimistic lifestyle.
These are the first steps to creating your happiness!!
