Welcome!! Thank you for stopping by to see all the behind-the-scenes details! If you're more into pretty pictures and less about all the words you can find the Gallery Post HERE. I greatly appreciate you being here! I hope you enjoy your time and learn something new! Please follow me on all the socials and share if you do enjoy/learn something! Thanks so much!! SketchIf you're new here this is the way I begin every one of my sets. I like to have a sketch... a guideline, if you will. Here is the sketch for this set. Experiementing with Transfers and ConsistencyMost cookiers really love using transfers and I have to admit there are times where they come in handy. I did some experimenting during this set to see if this was something I may do more often and I was having issues with my icing sinking. It would stay puffy on the transfer sheet but if I piped it on the cookie it would sink. I tried all the techniques. I poked holes, did squiggly lines.. added them on a dry base, wet base.. etc etc etc... My bats came out perfect. My balloons did not. I actually decided to scrap that cookie altogether and just create a happy birthday cookie as you will see in the photos. Full Set ProgressionI always take these pictures and then I never really know where to put them. But it's fun to see! Scooby Snax & Icing Consistency {continued}Scooby TagCupcake and Transfer ApplicationHere are some of the bats from earlier! They came out so awesome! And yes I used a cupcake liner to make a cupcake liner. Seemed appropriate. Worked fabulously. Scooby Aesthetic and More TransfersMore of those cute little bats. This cookie was rough because I had go all wet on wet for the background but I love how the "15" and bats pop because of that. Mystery Machine #1This is my favorite cookie of the set. This one not so much but eh I should have rebaked it but I decided it was Scooby Dooesque to have the van looking all wonky... Lots of weird angles and wavy transitions in Scooby Doo so I embraced it. 2020 vs. 2024I created some Scooby Doo cookies as a part of one of my sister's "Favorite Things" set.. I love seeing my cookies improve over time. The Cookie that Wasn'tSo here we are back at the balloons again... If you remember.... from the beginning of the post... I tried so many ways and I could not stop the craters in the balloons. I made transfers with the same icing and they came out perfect but I couldn't really get the look I was going for with the transfers so I scrapped this cookie and went with something similar. The Pesky KidsI was excited to do these over again. They are so iconic. The ReDoI didn't like how small her glasses looked in comparisson with the other characters cookies so I redid it. It was one of the very last things I did so a lot of the process photos will have the original. I'm glad I decided to redo it the 2nd one looked much better. 2020 vs. 2024Oddly enough I still kinda like both sets. The one on the right has all green outlines as part of the "green" theme of th set so they're a little different and unique. I like the flower shape of the left one and the coordinating outlines. More Scooby Aesthetic and GreenScooby Dooby DooI attempted to turn Scooby into a transfer but he broke... You can see if you look close enough where he cracked but I was able to put him together enough that I was okay with it. I really don't know if I have the patience for transfers. They take a really long time to dry, especially here in the South, and you really need the perfect consistency. I did salvage Scooby though. You will see him all finished and polished up in the Photoshoot and the end of this post. {Video Captures}If you want to see this in action it is posted on TikTok and YouTube. After the transfer situation with the first Scooby I decided to do this one with watercolor. He came out pretty cute hehe. More GreenThe request for this set was Scooby Doo and Green. Luckily they already go together pretty good. Scooby has that creepy green vibe to it so it worked out. PhotoshootCare PackagedWrap UpIf you made it this far you are wonderful!!
Thank you for coming on this Scooby Doo journey! There is a smaller version of this post in the gallery that is less wordy and more picture-y if that's your thing. Until next time! Much Love, Amanda
