I knew almost immediately when I cut out those huge cookies that the chances of them staying in once piece were really slim. I even tested one out (too early probably) and it broke in half thus confirming my intuition.
However, I decided to go ahead and decorate one of them and because of my disappointment of course, eat the other two hahaha.
Probably a surprise to no one but I decided to make the little trophy dudes by hand.
For one, they're all different sizes and secondly I really didn't want to deal with transfers either. So I painted lightly underneath by hand and then drew the icing on top.
We didn't like each other at all for a while but I think he came out okay.
I painted the details on with Edible Gold Dust and Vanilla Extract.
I mean it's ridiculous.
So instead of trying to flood the entire background as I did with the other cookies I decided to use a kind of textured effect... I basically painted it on.
I really liked the end result. I may use this technique more often.
Well you can definitely tell they were hand drawn here but I don't hate them.
They both look equally trophy-like and you shouldn't judge anyway right? haha.
As I said, we were not friends that first night LOL.
Still... eh... looks like a trophy to me and I mean, not bad for my very first trophy...
Also how cute are the little balloons!! I just got myself a rather large set of mini cutters for Christmas and I'm going to be using them as much as possible LOL.
I know the balloons are probably going to be a new norm.
I still can't believe I was able to pull him off LOL. Pretty cool.
Even with me holding him it's hard to tell how big he is... my hands aren't tiny...
I have lanky Jack Skellington hands that cookie is BIG y'all. Lol.
Anyway and finally there's all 3 of the trophies together.
I wanted to paint my Dad's car on a cookie.
So I did.
I was lucky enough to get some decent sunshine. It's always hard to photograph gold but I have fun.
Okay so we got mini traffic lights, the painted car, the "build-a-trophies", mini balloons, two miniature trophies and I don't even know what to call the middle trophy it really shouldn't even exist it goes beyond all the rules of gravity LOL.
I can not tell you how suprised I was... from the second I pulled this cookie out of the oven I was already convinced there was no way it was making it out of my kitchen... but it did!!
As you've seen previously I had the balloons bagged pretty early but I spent a long time packing up them nicely and it paid off because not a single cookie broke.
Haha this post was long... but it was cool right?
Probably the most unique set I have ever done.
Thank you so much for checking out my content!
Stay tuned for more of my adventures!!
